Mad Scientist Hocus Pocus - is it magic or science?  This character performs in schools and is recommended for grade levels two through six. You may choose to have The Mad Scientist and her cohort, Teri Neff (Horace Mann's 2002 Educator of the Year), visit your classroom and present a 1/2 hour magic-in-science theme show. Or the Mad Scientist can visit your classroom at lunchtime and work with students to develop magic/science tricks presented by them.  They pick the tricks, the Mad Scientist provides the supplies, and they practice, practice, practice, as well as learn the principles behind the magic.  We then present a 1/2 hour magic show to the class.  Their peers must decide if it is magic or science.  The presenting students must share the "science" secrets, but must keep the "magic" secret - a code of magicians!  You may want to ask your students which they would prefer - Twinkles and Company is always amazed at how most students willingly forfeit their lunchtime; and by the Mad Scientist's second session, all students are voluntarily participating.  This is Twinkles and Company's absolute, favorite program!
